About John
John J. Murray Jr. is a nationally recognized speaker, consultant, and conflict resolution expert who trains leaders and teams to address conflict, strengthen communication, and lead through change before sparks become fires.
He holds an LL.M. in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine University’s top-ranked program and is a certified Prosci Change Management Practitioner, blending conflict resolution, communication, and change science into practical tools leaders can use immediately.
John’s career spans service as a U.S. Army JAG Corps attorney, private practice, and higher-education leadership, where he served as a law professor, dean, and program builder. Across these roles, he saw the same pattern repeat itself: unresolved conflict and poor communication quietly undermines performance, trust, and culture. That insight led him to found Murray Mediation & Consulting, where he now works with organizations to build healthier teams, clearer communication, and more resilient leaders.
A sought-after keynote speaker and facilitator, John is the creator of the Stop, Drop, & Roll method of conflict resolution and the A-Formation Leadership framework. He is the bestselling author of Better Than Our Dogs, Man Na, and Introduction to Law: A Real, Relevant, and Relatable Approach for Paralegals, and his work has been featured on CBS, NBC News, and Fox.
If your organization is ready to reduce friction, improve communication, and lead change with confidence, John brings the insight, structure, and presence to make it happen.
